Fleet Marine Life #62 – A General Day
As a 1-star General, Marines will bend over backwards to please them. I’ve always wondered what it’s like to work for a General. I image it to be something like slavery where you have to follow whatever whims he may have. Just like the rest of the Marine Corps.
I remember in Okinawa, my higher ups would tell everyone that a General (no one knows who) is coming down to inspect our barracks on Friday. Then they would proceed to tell us that if we fail the inspection then we’re going to have to “stand by.” So this would cause us to field day our barracks for half the day on Thursday, sleep for like 3 hours and then field day for another 3 hours until it’s time for us to go to work. Word was passed later that we passed field day. I asked my buddy about the General and he replied, “The General never came through.” This happened a few times in my short career. The General never shows up or if he does, he only checks one room. Fucking Generals. I bet they do that shit on purpose for a laugh.
Getting fucked over by imaginary Generals since 1775.
I KNEW no one really came through the room today (Friday) to inspect. Cuz my roommate is SIQ! Fucking liars
I was the BEQ manager for about 8 months in my battalion as a lance. I made sure my room was never on the inspection roster. AND I was the only one with the keys to my room. Besides my roomate (who to this day even out of the corps, is my roomate) and my gf lol. LOL that makes me laugh now, my GF had a key to my room but the battalion commander did not. FTW, that is just one of my many many stories of sticking it to the man, even when still enlisted.
Nice comic, made me laugh!

Someone who has meetings with the POTUS isn’t gonna waste their time checking for dust on top of your refrigerator. It was always bullshit when they said a General was coming for field day inspection… just more fuck-fuck games for our SNCO’s to play on us
When I was stationed at Pendleton, we got word that the commandant was coming along with the Sgt Maj of the MC. You can imagine the field days we did. Ridiculous to the point that they disassembled our chairs to look for dust between the fabric and the plastic. It was even worse outside, as we had to sweep the lot about 1000 times and then go over the concrete with an air compressor. End result: Gen Haggee gave a speech at the UMA lot and left, didn’t even look at anything.
Hahaha! Dust between the plastic and the fabric?!
Not even kidding about that. I don’t think anyone could make that up.
